Horizon PSE7 Elliptical Trainer

In the market for an elliptical trainer, I began doing research early in the week and in the end, purchased a Horizon PSE7 from Dick's Sporting Goods for $1,299. I felt like the quality of the item plus the electronic functions made it the best deal I could find out there. I tried about a dozen different models and came down to this one.

I took it home Friday night and with some help from my neighbor, got it down into the basement that night. It was pretty heavy at 250 lbs. Saturday morning I got to the act of putting it together. It took about 2 hours to put it together, not too bad. The instructions were very easy to follow and they bagged the bolts and screws into individual packages that made it easy to know what went with each step.

I used it this morning and it is very smooth and easy to use. The large LCD screen gives constant feedback to your progress and it has handle grip heart rate monitor that helps you get a quick idea of how you're doing. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

I want one of those Precor Elipticals one day. Instead, I have a crummy Wal-Mart one that creaks and moves side to side a bit. But, it's better than nothing at this point.

Our friends have a Precor. It seemed pretty nice but there were 2 things I like better about our Horizon.
1) It has a front flywheel, which gives you a better foot angle than the rear flywheel ones (which tend to point your foot down).
2) It has the arm bars for upper body workout, which theirs did not have.
