Mizuno MX-25 Forged Irons

I finally got around to trading in my 2002 Callaway Big Bertha irons for a new set of Mizuno MX-25's. First forged set of irons I've had, I look forward to playing them for many years.

I was fitted for the first time as well and learned that my clubs have had the wrong lie angle all along. I am having these bent 3 degrees flat. Turns out I was hitting the heal first which would explain a lot.

I've played twice now with them since I got them and I am hitting the ball very well. Great trajectory and tremendous feel. On slight mis-hits I can tell immediately what happened and the ball still goes straight, just shorter. I have flown a couple of greens so my distances may not be quite right yet. My gap wedge is definitely shorter, down in the 105 range instead of 115 (the loft is 1 degree more than my old GW). I feel very confident standing over the ball knowing that I will hit a great shot.

Horizon PSE7 Elliptical Trainer

In the market for an elliptical trainer, I began doing research early in the week and in the end, purchased a Horizon PSE7 from Dick's Sporting Goods for $1,299. I felt like the quality of the item plus the electronic functions made it the best deal I could find out there. I tried about a dozen different models and came down to this one.

I took it home Friday night and with some help from my neighbor, got it down into the basement that night. It was pretty heavy at 250 lbs. Saturday morning I got to the act of putting it together. It took about 2 hours to put it together, not too bad. The instructions were very easy to follow and they bagged the bolts and screws into individual packages that made it easy to know what went with each step.

I used it this morning and it is very smooth and easy to use. The large LCD screen gives constant feedback to your progress and it has handle grip heart rate monitor that helps you get a quick idea of how you're doing. I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Partners

From time to time I'll be adding links to other businesses that I feel provide good service and a fair value.

The first 2 I have added are 3BallsGolf and Golfballs.com.

3BallsGolf is a large internet golf supplier specializing in new and used equipment. Super prices on just about everything you could think of.

Golfballs.com provides super prices on golf balls. I've purchased many dozens of balls from them in the past, the price is great and shipping is super fast. They also have clubs, bags and apparel as well.

You have my promise that I will not post ads for anything I would not use myself and do not believe provides excellent service and value.

So, if you're looking for great deals, give them a try.

Thanks!

Intro

Hi gang,

This blog will be all about sporting goods. I will be focusing on equipment reviews in many sports, including but not limited to: golf, hockey, bowling, exercise, etc.

I will also attempt to find hot deals on equipment you might be interested in. In addition I will try to provide feedback on new items I have tried and my feelings on them.

In time I would also like to add the ability for you, the readers, to supply your own equipment reviews, deals, etc.

I'm hoping that it can become a one stop equipment shopping mecca.

Stay tuned!
